The Snoezelen therapy room at St. Markus is enriched with murals by Toni Hamler, providing a calm and visually immersive atmosphere to support dementia care.
As part of a holistic dementia therapy approach, the Snuffelen & Doezelen Room incorporates multisensory stimulation with a strong visual component. Toni Hamler was commissioned to paint custom wall frescoes that complement the light therapy, soothing sounds, and aromatic infusions designed to reduce anxiety and encourage relaxation.
Hamler’s work transforms the walls into a soothing visual escape, providing patients with a sense of familiarity, warmth, and peace. The result is a carefully curated space that supports emotional well-being through both sensory and artistic immersion.
